Most important thing before unlocking your iphone is make sure your iphone is jailbroken if it is not then do it from HERE
iOS 6.1 is the latest iOS available . It can be unlocked with UltraSnOw 1.2.8 . Its already available in Cydia . It can unlock iPhone 4 , iPhone 3G/3GS . Unlock for iPhone 4S is not available .
Just follow the following steps :
- Make sure your baseband show qualify the required conditions . You can check your baseband via Settings >General >About . Check the “Modem Firmware” section . If your iPhone 4 is on baseband 01.59.00 , or iPhone 3G/3GS is on baseband 04.26..08 , 05.11.07, 05.12.01 , 05.13.04 or 06.15.00 ,, you can unlock the iPhone .
But if the above conditions are not satisfied , you can’t unlock your iPhone as you are not eligible for it .
- If you are eligible for it , then you have to make sure that when you update your iPhone to iOS 6.1, you don’t update the baseband .
- Jailbreak your iPhone 6..1
- Go to Cydia and install UltraSnOw 1.2.8 (Search-type in ultrasnow).
- Insert your new micro-SIM card card, say Airtel SIM. Within few seconds your iPhone would be on new network that is Airtel .
Now your iOS 6.1 is unlocked … 
In this way, any iOS can be unlocked . Just install the UltraSnOW version supported for that iOS and your iPhone should qualify the baseband conditions.
For example , iOS 5.0.1 can be unlocked by UltraSnOw 1.2.5

Thanks for your nice information. Now a days there are lot of methods available to unlock an iphone3gs such as hardware,software,sam,,remote unlock method and etc.But according to my opinion remote unlock method is the best and easy method to unlock an iphone3gs. Because other methods contains lot of steps. It is not comfortable for me. So i have chosen remote unlock method and i got service from this site Unlock-Zone.com
