so if you want that nobody access your pendrive except you why dont you then password protect your pendrive. today i will show you how to password protect your pendrive by using the preinstalled windows utility named as bit locker.
BitLocker Drive Encryption is a full disk encryption feature included with the Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Microsoft's Windows Vista, Windows 7, and with Pro and Enterprise editions of Windows 8desktop operating systems, as well as the server platforms, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012. It is designed to protect data by providing encryption for entire volumes and removable disks.
follow the steps given below to password protect your pendrive.
STEPS:
- Insert your pendrive drive to computer.
- now right click on the pendrive in my computer.
- there will be a option turn bitlocker on click on it.
- now it will ask to set a password.
- set a strong password then Click on Next.
- now it will ask to save the recovery file in case you forget password then to reset it.
- save the recovery file then click on next.
- now bitlocker will start encrypting the data in the pendrive.
- after that whenever you plugin this pendrive it will ask for password.
- hence your data is safe and secure.
